I have no recollection of a childhood. I never knew my parnets. My earliest memories are of being in a slave camp. I rememeber a lot of water and a lot of rock. I think we were on an island. My captors were Orcs or something close to that, I'm really not sure. I remember being forced to mine for gems and gold. There were other humans in the slave camp, but they seemed different than me. I was the only one who could somewhat see in the dark and the only one able to get close enough to the smelters without being severely burned. I think I was feared for being different as I certainly had no friends. These little horns on my head certainly didn't help matters either. Around my 18th year of life there was a slave revolt. Many humans died and a few of us lucky ones escaped. I swam for hours and hours. Finally my muscles burned and I gave in to the cool water. I was drowning. I knew I was going to die. I heard voices in a dream-like way and thought I felt strong hands grab me. When I opened my eyes again I was laying on a rocky beach; alone. With only my wet, ripped clothes on my back, I hurried for the trees. I met an elf that evening, and she fed me dinner. She spoke of Ilsare. After hearing her tales of this goddess, I was convinced that Ilsare must have saved me. I bid the elf farewell with some renewed hope of making a life for myself. I've been wandering searching for clues to my past ever since.
