Bruegaar was brought up like most other dwarves, in his fathers clan by his father and his fore fathers. His life revolved solely around protecting his clan and their home. His father was after all a reputed captain of the clan militia, and Bruegaar was expected to follow in his fathers footsteps. However, on one very unfortunante day during his 51st year, a disasterous event occured which changed all of his and his clans plans for the future. This one very unfortunante day started like any other, all was as it should be, all except for a rather strange looking peddler who came to the clan home that morning. It just so happened that Bruegaar was manning the gate that morning, and it was Bruegaar who allowed this strange fellow to enter, although he was hesitant to do so, it had been almost a full year since the clan had last seen a trader or any sort. The day turned from what it should have been, to something it should not. This strange peddler was more than he seemed, and as a result of his presence, Bruegaar's clan was brought almost to its knees. For this strange peddler was infact a creature of the lower planes in disguise. This creature had chosen the clan's home as base for its planned operations, and it needed the rich source of platinum that was about to be uncovered in the mines of Bruegaars home. The clan have been forced to flee, to escape from their home, and have taken up refuge several leagues away, praying for the day that they may yet find a way back to their home. And so, as Bruegaar had essentially let the creature into their home, it was Bruegaar who felt that he should make amends for what he'd done. Bruegaar chose to take on a personal exile; an exile with a single purpose, to find a way to remove this creature from the clan's home. And so Bruegaar now searches the lands of Layonara for a means to restore his clan to their ancestral home.
