Depending on the CR of the creature, the following effects occur:

• Under CR 5: Creature dies instantly.
• CR 5 - CR 7: Creature is blind, stunned and confused for 1 round per 2 caster levels.
• CR 8 - CR 11: Creature is blind and stunned for 1 round per 2 caster levels.
• CR 12 and higher: Creature is blind for 1 round per 2 caster levels.

In addition, any hostile summoned creatures are returned to their home planes.
