Quin grew up in a manor in the city Port Hempstead, having being born into a moderately wealthy family. He spent his childhood studying under a tutor, although he showed no great aptitude to learn and spent most of his days trying to avoid or shorten the lessons so he could travel into the heart of town and listen to amazing stories told by the traveling bards. Quins dad was a successful jewelery merchant and insisted that Quin continue the family business that took his own father so long to set up, but Quin stubbornly wanted to pursue a more adventurous life. He determined to become a famous bard as it seemed a glamorous lifestyle and a good idea at the time. Of course, having lived amongst nobility since birth, Quin was accustomed to being complimented at whatever he did so that by the time he had reached adulthood his ego was huge. His father warned Quin that he was tone deaf and would fail as a bard, but Quin was too stubborn and left anyway. His father, angry at Quin's disobedience, disowned his son on the doorstep. Sadly, Quin soon discovered his father was right. Nobody enjoyed his stories; instead they just tossed rotten fruit. But with his stubborn mindset he really would not return to his father unless he made something of himself, so he began to use his silver tongue, finding himself quite a smooth talker. He became a scam artist during desperate times, learned how to run and avoid capture when people became savvy to his scams and called the guard on him. A common tactic Quin has been known to employ was to set some trip wires near his target, and if he has to run for it he can use the trip wires to cover his escape While living out on the road Quin learnt basic knowledge of trapping animals from rangers living locally in the area, Quin has been known to use these skills he picked up to survive and catch small game (rabbits, badgers, etc) But Quin has a tendency to forget where he set his traps and walk into them himself. Quin can sometimes be seen going up to merchants and offering to fix small problems for them for a hot meal (often the problems he himself created) or stopping people in the street to make a sales pitch for some worthless bit of junk that he claims belonged to some long dead lich and is told to hold all kinds of magic powers. Although Quin preys upon the rich he is, in essence, a robin hood, helping poor and misfortune people while swindling the rich. Quins life goal is for a "fair world" and believes the best way to achieve it is to level the playing field starting with the greedy merchants. Some time after Quin left, he heard rumor that his family was ambushed by orcs while in the process of traveling to another area for trade. Quin returned home for their funerals, saddened by the news, and shocked to learn that his father had altered his will, leaving the family wealth to charity. Quin returned to the street in shock, realizing he had nobody but himself to depend on. Quin is the kind of man who always keeps positive; full of self confidence, with an air of superiority. However, when a fight starts or it looks like he's in real danger, the false bravado fades and Quin will always be the first to be running for the hills. The few times he does have to fight he makes sure to fight dirty, and has learned how to hit the places that while not always honorable, cause the most pain for the target. He has a slightly unkempt look of neglect about him, the look of a stray dog who drifts house to house picking bits of scraps of the owners plates. His skin is rather pale with long black messy hair that can sometimes be seen tied back behind him.
