Leng was born to a family of coopers in the settlement of Fort Hope. His early life was spent going to school and helping his family attend to the business of supplying the local population with barrels. IN his teens, while on a buying trip with his family abroad, his caravan was ambushed and overrun by a band of Undead. Many died in the fighting that endued. This included his beloved older sister. A passing group of Rangers saw the attack and joined in the caravans defense. After the fighting, they helped with the woulded and dead. Then they simply and enigmatically melted back into the forrest and on their way. The Rangers asked for nothing in return. Though grief-stricken with the loss of his sibling, he knew that that was his calling. To be a Ranger. To live in the forest and protect innocent people from those who would do them harm. To wherever needed to help rid the world of the taint of the Undead that took his sisters life.
