Doriath Taint is the bastard son of a wealthy exotic potions trader named Vaegoro and Iasedei, an early retired bar wench. Iasedei was a refugee with more than enough charm to catch the gaze of the power lusty Vaegoro. In an economic venture Vaegoro took his mistress with him to Hlint to escape heckling from his Business peers and married her in the dark of the night. Doriath was raised by Iasedei alone even before the day Vaegoro was murdered by some old business cohorts that found out he had swindled them on a potions deal 12 years prior. Doriath had to support himself and his mother by running errands for the local guild halls and working on farms. On the farms Doriath nurtured his skills with animals and love of nature. One day, after delivering a package by night, Doriath returned home to find his mother dead by the hands of common thieves. All that was left at the site was a strange pendant that Iasedei had managed to rip off of a thief before her brutal and agonizing death. Doriath was 14 when Iasedei was murdered and until he was 22 he roamed from town to town on a bitter quest to find the thieves who killed his mother and banish the pain and anguish back from whence it came. It was in the winter of his 22nd year that Doriath did find his mother's murderer. The man's name was Maglhedros. Maglhedros was a weak old drunken man, who was barely alive and could not even speak his own name when Doriath found him. There was no glorious battle. There was no bitter justice or satisfaction in this moment. Doriath was suddenly filled with fear of a life wasted upon death, murder, and stealing. Doriath left the old man to die however he pleased. Doriath returned to Hlint, the town of his childhood, and rekindled his love for nature. He set out into the Sielwood Forest to wash his soul clean and find peace. This he did find in the Ranger's Vale. For 5 years Doriath has wandered the lands around Hlint and devoted his life to the ways of the Ranger.
