Dwarf: Racial Deformation

Dwarves are born with aged expressions. In childhood, the frowns in the already-aged expressions of dwarves appear and remain there for the rest of their lives. There are, however, certain features that do change.

Firstly, dwarven hair tends to lighten over time, losing its darker shades in favor of silvers or golds. Secondly, their resilient skin wrinkles further, becoming a color similar to ash left in a forge.

Dwarves generally have children when they reach middle age ' a time when they consider the life they have lived so far and what they will leave behind, which is an important part of dwarven life. This is also the time when they inherit the homes of their forefathers or create one of their own.

Dwarves have absolutely no time for dramatics. They like things to be clear and without the doubt instilled by emotions. This does not mean they are cold and disconnected; rather they are emotional about strength and endurance of the soul and strong believers in union of clan and not individualized desires that may seem selfish.

This stoic perspective of life relates directly to the seriousness they use to approach all things. Play only lasts for so long in a dwarf's life; even when it does, it needs to have some sort of purpose. Doing things for the sake of doing does not work for a dwarf; there needs to be purpose.

As they're prone to short tempers when confronting things that go against their grain, dwarves confront them in the way that they are built'with strength and sometimes violence. They're always a hand's reach from a loving punch to bring someone to their senses or an outright burst of blows when something precious to their clan is abused in some manner. An angry dwarf is a scary dwarf.
