Teranda was the second child born to a minor noble house on Voltrex. She grew up being cared for by her mother and older brother as her father was distant. Teranda's mother was a teacher and academic so Teranda had a strong education from birth. Teranda studied a variety of interests but leaned much more towards theoretical concepts then practical ones. Eventually she became highly interested in the nature of reality itself. She became more and more englamored with the ideas of relativism and self-constructed reality, much to her mothers annoyance. This lead her to travel to Spellgard one summer with her mother, who thought that being around the lesser races would instill a proper sense of elven values in her daughter. Unfortunately the plan backfired as once Teranda was there she studied the various theories of the Weave she came to the conclusion that not only did the Weave permeate all reality it in fact was the very fabric of reality; susceptible to construction due to thought, thus allowing the occurrences known as "magic." While not a widely accepted theory, especially among the very conservative and traditional Sun Elves, Teranda devoted herself to the study of Lucinda and magic. Most of her peers did not agree with her philosophies and Teranda became something of a social outcast upon returning home. Of course, her natural arrogance didn't win her many friends either. Then, just after Teranda reached the end of her first century, her mother died in an accident while on sabbatical. Teranda's family was thrown into chaos as her father descended into grief and decided to become a hermit. The family title then passed to Teranda's brother and since he had no children she became the heir presumptive. This set upon Teranda a set of social expectations that she was not at all fond of due to her social estrangement. She at first tried to distance herself by refusing to take up her courtesy title and dropping the "Lady" from her name. However societies expectations are hard to combat and finally, after completing her preliminary studies and apprenticeship as a wizard, she has set off to make a name for self. Her only regret was that, leaving and breaking such strong traditions, she had effectively renounced her lineage and left her house without an heir. She still dreams of sometime returning to Voltrex when she has the power and notoriety to command the respect from her peers she feels that she deserves.
