Until the age of 115 Magnnus La'Moris lived happily with his elven family in The Great Forest of Xantril. Although the grove's warriors did occasionally have to tangle with the local threats, Magnnus remained clouded from the truth of the nightmare's that surrounded him. When Magnnus reached adult hood at 110 he began to explore the forest outside of his grove. He learned to defend him self from small dangers and more importantly he learned how to hide from large dangers. It was now that he learned that the world he lived in was not well. At 115 years of age he left his family, and the demonic horrors that surround his calm grove, to experience the peaceful world that was rumored to exist outside the horror ridden land of Xanrial. He had planned his escape as a route that would lead him through the wilderness so that he could avoid major roads where Xantrial's minions may discover him. The plan was to remain on the western edge of Xantril so that he could eventually make contact with the coastal town of Westgate. However, despite his best efforts Magnnus's escape was not entirely without danger, on three occasions he came face to face with demonic patrols. On the first occasion he was resting near Swarm Lake when he heard the terrible chorus of Xantrial's minions. To avoid this encounter he was forced to hide under the lakes water to not be seen, and in the process he nearly drowned to death. On the second occasion he was residing in the Damp Woods, an area of his own habitat, and he was able to easily avoid the patrol by climbing and hiding in the nearest tree. However even though he was at home in the woods his heart was still pounding at the sight of Xantrial's demons. On the final occasion he was in relatively open plains and by the time he saw Xantrial's patrol he had already been spotted, but not without distance for the minions to cover. He mad a mad dash with the quickest pace that he had ever experienced and just as he thought he was going to be shot dead he glanced to the right to see a mossy cavern. He quickly leaped into the cavern with enough agility and stealth that when the patrol came parallel with himself they could not discover where Magnnus had gone, and they must have assumed that their cause was lost because they abandoned their search. Despite the obvious dangers that his journey posed, Magnnus also had to deal with the dangers of starvation, which often lead him to rely on hunting the local wildlife for sustenance. Even though Magnnus faced many dangers he eventually managed to reach Westgate, where he sneaked into a trade ship's cargo and became freed from the troubles of Xantril. When Magnnus was 145 he heard that Xandrial had left his kingdom of Xantril, and that the land was now recovering from the chaos that had consumed it. Overwhelmed with the joyful thoughts of returning to see his family for the first time in 19 years, Magnnus set forth to return to Xantril, and managed to avoid the still diminishing dangers the resided in Xantrial with the experience that he had gained from his escape. However he met a devastating realization when he returned to his grove to see that there was only a smoldering pile where his once majestic grove stood. In this moment Magnnus became consumed by hatred, fear, sadness, and began to see the world as a cruel reality. Fueled by his hatred he was compelled to discover who was responsible for his and his family's suffering, and upon closer inspection of the grove he noticed signs of that demons had been present. He inferred that the demons must have raided and burned the grove while he was absent, and with this new evidence he began to blame himself for the death of his friends and family. He believed that he could have saved them if only he had been there or if he was capable of passing through Xantril without the inevitable danger of Xandrial and his demonic hordes. Scared by this event Magnnus La'Moris has since been training in the arts of wizardry in the hopes that he can become powerful enough to prevent events such as his own from harming anyone else, and so that he can reign terror on any demons that may still reside in Layonara.
