Keith Stryker's father, Warren, had always been a loyal follower of Toran, the All Watching and Great Leader. Warren married Karen, Keith's mother, when he was 25 years old. One year and three months later, their child was born on the fourteenth day of Junar. Karen had been fighting for her life for about twelve days before she gave birth to Keith. After three days had passed, Karen died from an unkown disease that the local clerics could not cure. Upon Karen's death, Warren became overwhelmed with grief. He began to question if any of the gods truely existed. For how could a god let such a tragedy occour? After two months had passed, Warren became so depressed that he realized he could not take care of Keith and submitted him to a local martial arts school. The master of the school sensed something within Keith that he could not recoginize. The master, Orsen, took Keith under his wing and raised Keith in his school. When Keith reached six years old, Orsen began training Keith in the ways of the Monk. Over the years, Keith learned how to defend himself and others in need. Orsen was so impressed with Keith's natural ability to learn he began exercising Keith with lessons he would normally only teach a student that had much longer experience. Upon Keith's fifteenth birthday while he was sleeping, he had a vision of his mother, Karen. In this vision he saw Karen and his father, Warren, sitting at a table with a meal waiting for them inside a tavern. The two were holding each other, not paying attention to the world around them. During this moment, Keith visioned a cloaked man walk past the couple and their table and slip something in Karen's drink. Neither of Keith's parents noticed this. The couple began eating afterwards and Karen picked up her drink and as soon as the tip touched her lips, Keith awoke from his dream. Not understanding this vision, he told Orsen about it, hoping to recieve some advice on what it meant. Orsen contemplated what Keith had told him and came to the conclusion that Keith somehow inherited phenomenal powers. Orsen never mentioned to Keith his decision and told Keith to keep a journal of all the dreams he has. On Keith's next birthday, he had another vision of his parents. This time the vision was inside a small room and the two were sitting upon a bed. Warren was holding his head next to Karen's stomach, listening to Keith inside of her. Warren lifted his head and stared into Karen's eyes and kissed her. When the couple's lips seperated, Keith awoke from his dream. Confused, he quickly wrote down his dream and layed back down, pondering why he has had another vision. When morning came around, Keith told Orsen of his vision again. Orsen told Keith that he must be remembering moments in his parent's past through their blood. Knowing this wasn't possible, Orsen tried to think of an explination for Keith's visions and fully decided he had special powers handed to him from a divine being. Orsen wasn't sure how this happened, but he was sure it came from Keith's mother. Later that day, Orsen had Keith spar against him to see how his training had progressed himself. During the sparring match, Keith attacked Orsen in hopes of scoring a hit, but Orsen simply deflected his attack and knocked him on the ground. When Keith hit the ground, something inside him changed. He felt different somehow. Not quite sure what happened, he went on the assault again. When Keith swung his fist at his master Orsen began a counterattack with his feet to sweep Keith off his feet again. In this moment, Keith visioned that Orsen did this and quickly jumped over Orsen's foot and hit Orsen in the head with his knee, knocking Orsen unconsious. When Orsen came to he saw Keith next to him in a blank trance. Shaking his head, he went over to Keith and rested his hand on his shoulder. When Orsen did this, Keith quickly snapped his hand on his master's forearm, thinking he was under attack again. Quickly realizing who it was, he released his guard with a sigh. Orsen asked Keith how he was able to dodge his counterattack so aptly. Keith explained that he somehow was able to sense his counterattack and acted upon instinct. After hearing this, Orsen was sure that Keith had been given a gift. Orsen finally explained his thoughts of Keith's special powers to him. Keith wasn't sure what to think so he asked his master what he should do with this power he had been granted. Orsen said that it was not his place to say such a thing, and that he should try and find the proper use on his own. Keith understood this and decided not to pursue it any further. Knowing that Keith's full potential had not been unlocked, he submitted Keith to more advanced training for the next several years, helping him perfect his style the whole time. Keith never had another vision during his training and was never able to perfect his foresight ability with Orsen over the years. Slowly, he pushed the memories of his visions into the back oh his mind. When Keith had reached twenty years of age, Orsen told Keith that he was finally ready to leave his school and live a life of his own accord. Not wanting to let his master down, he told Orsen that he would become a hero of the people, to right the wrongs in the world. Upon hearing this, Orsen smiled and watched Keith leave his school to start his own adventure...
