Grand: Sects

The Church of Grand is still very new and there are no known sects of the church currently operating. Jukha would not allow them if he knew about any.

Red Raven of Grand

Ten years before the fall of Bloodstone, Jukha received disturbing news. From an O'og hakt Ohahg concubine given to the tribal leader Truak, came word of a champion of Grand, one whose power increased with every death. Seething, Jukha sent scouts to view this champion and report back. Two returned with the news that there was a huge orc named Corash who was calling himself the Hot Hhagok (Red Raven). He could die; however, his wounds would close without bandaging, and he would rise stronger and more difficult to kill. Jukha went into a fit of prayer, sacrificing a good portion of the tribe's still living larder to gain an answer. Grand sent him a vision of Corash uniting the tribes under Grand's rule and acting as chieftain while Jukha headed the church. Jukha was mollified but kept scouts on the increasingly violent and powerful champion. The Red Raven began a massive campaign to destroy Dorand's temple in Lyn. Jukha was envious and angry that another would get the glory of that temple's doom but there was little he could do. He seeded the orc army being assembled with several Axes, and he waited. Word of Pit Dwellers in the service of Corash and a tunnel being dug to Lyn so the attack would be a surprise got through. Then, for weeks, nothing.

Finally, a runner came with the news that the attack had failed and the champion had been defeated' by a bard. Apparently, a bardwoman had sung a song for Corash that had weakened him so much that a rival named Komakz was able to smash the link between Grand and Corash. Spies for the dwarves had then run ahead, unknown to the army, and Lyn was able to defend the temple. Jukha spit on the name of Corash for his weakness in the face of a female, and he declared that no male born to any tribe would be named Corash on fear of instant death.
