Background
If your standing down-wind, you smell him before you see him -- salt and the mud of lowtide. When you first set eyes on him, you might be led to believe that he is underfed, but on closer inspection you notice that he is really all muscle, skin and bone. His tanned skin stretches over his body like well cured leather and his blond hair and beard fly about in an untamed tangle. On land he moves like a wave, crashed thru everything in his path and talking in frank but abrupt tones. If you see him in the water, you might think he was a fish.
