Born and raised in a family of creators and performers, Sympozium quickly developed an interest for music and storytelling. His father, an eccentric, yet struggling artist born of human origin, and his mother, an elf of extraordinary singing abilities, always encouraged their son's creative endeavors. During his teenage years, Sympozium and his friends formed a trio of musicians calling themselves the Trivium, who would travel to local taverns and inns to perform. Astounding their audiences with flawless (if not unorthodox) songs and inspiring lyrics, they quickly became one of the most sought after musical acts by innkeepers and bartenders alike. One fateful day, an elf by the name of Mustis Greenwave approached them. Mustis confided in them that he was the proud owner of the most successful inn across the sea, and that even there the group's music had gained much popularity. If they agreed to relocate and perform regularly at his inn, he would offer them enough gold to make a king jealous. Without hesitation, they accepted his generous offer, and soon found themselves on a ship with their families sailing eastward. However, just two days from port, their ship was suddenly attacked by a band of murderous pirates. Before his very eyes, Sympozium watched as his family and friends were butchered without mercy. In the midst of the chaos, a random body was flung at him, knocking Sympozium over-board and into the salty, warm ocean waters. Floating on a broken plank, he drifted in the sea until he was spotted two days later by a ship of whalers near the coast. Too stricken with grief to do anything else, he offered to join the whalers in hopes to drown his horrible past. For four years he sailed with his rescuers, hunting whales and fighting off pirates when needed. Eventually, however, this life became tiresome to Sympozium, and he yearned to be on stage again, performing for a cheering, drunk audience. So one night, with only the clothes on his back and a couple coins in his pouch, he set out to reclaim what was so unfairly taken from him: a life of music.
