A young human ranger by the name of Harlad found, while journeying quite deep into The High Forest, a fresh battlefield were orcs and elves had battled and left the ground red. Between the bodies he found a three year old elven child. The child was starved out and terrified, and he didn't look like he would live much longer. Harlad, who was a man with a good heart, felt pity for him and decided to take the child with him and raise him as his own son. He took him to his home, a small human village just south of The High Forest and raised him together with his wife Jina. All though they gave him a warm and secure home, Meldarin, as he grew older, still felt drawn out in the forest, to find his roots and get contact with other elves. Even though he made long journeys into the forest, he didn't find any other of his kind, and it became a growing unrest in Meldarins mind. Many of the villagers disliked Meldarin's presence in the town, but as long as Harlad and Jina lived they didn't dare to do anything about it. When Harlad and Jina did die, and Meldarin was alone, it didn't take long before he felt the villagers' distrust to his race so much, that he felt forced to leave the village. As a young wood elf, 60 years old, he left his home were he had lived all his life, in search of his roots. When he finally met someone of his kind, he found that the wood elves looked upon him as an outcast and that they shunned him. Devastated, Meldarin left The High Forest. He roamed the nearby land senseless a while, until finally taking a job as a mercenary, protecting a caravan heading to Port Hampshire. He continued working as a mercenary for a long time, with his bow as a faithful companion, journeying Mistone. Many people noticed his skill, and some noticed his great potential as an assassin, and offered him much money for his assistance. But Meldarin refused to go down that path cause he felt compassion for the world around him, as his foster-father before him.
