Eidar Mckenzie

Background

Eidar Mckenzie has shockingly red hair and very fair skin (which makes him sunburn easily). He stands about 6 feet tall and weighs somewhere around 185 pounds, all muscle. He has quite a knack with the longbow and can hold his own in a close in fight, preferring lighter armor to the heavy clunky stuff. He is good at scouting as well as fighting and is an up and coming tactician. He is next in line to be ckan chief if the people of his clan are willing to have him Eidar Mckenzie hails from the Clan Mckenzie, an ancient Human clan that has regrouped after the 2nd age. He is the clan chiefs son and the Tanist of his clan. He has been sent out to learn of the world and what has happened in the areas where the clan has not heard from anyone. The clan Mckenzie is well known for their archery skills and light infantry. In the major largescale wars of the ages they have gained great reknown for their archery, sometimes holding off great chrages with the range of their longbows and high rate of fire. They are also well known skirmishers prefering to move quickly and fight efficiently rather than just waltzing in and brawling. They are excellent at hit and run tactics and Eidar has been trained in many of these capabilities. The clan Mckenzie has great respect for elves but not so much for dwarves. Everyone else is on a person to person basis, although they are wary of Goblins, Orcs, and other such. Eidar is Chaotic Good in part because of the rule system of his clan. A clan chief is not a hereditary ruler but is accepted by the people. A chief is not a "Lord" so there is no bowing and scraping, however he/she is acknowledged as the leader by the people and they willing follow out of trust and love for their leader. Mckenzies therefore distrust any authority that requires absolute submission and loss of agency even if much is given in return. So Eidar distrusts most government entities in Layonara. As far as religion goes the Mckenzies (and in turn, Eidr) believe in a large Pantheon of the Gods and direct their devotion and prayers to all of them as circumstances require. Their main deity however is Prunilla due to their way of life in their homeland as a farming culture. They believe in a strong family and structure. Mckenzies have a supreme dislike of all evil Gods, but they see the need for them as they believe in opposition in all things. Due to their belief in opposition they will do all they can in their power to oppose evil, even to destroy it entirely despite their belief that it will never happen but to do otherwise is to fight evil with less than a full desire and is seen as a weakness. Mckenzies do not have any clerics but do have a druidic tradition. Their druids however have to have a certain mindset so many do not take such a route. Due to Eidan's more Chaotic tendancies he has chosen to forgo the druidic tradition. Mckenzies culture is taken from the Irish and Scotish culture here. As such they love bagpipes and kilts, etc. There are more clans than the Mckenzie but they have been scattered for so long little is known of their whereabouts. Another reason for Eidars adventures is to find the other clans, or at least what became of them.
