Rhugal's Realm: Politics

The politics of Rhugal's Realm are fierce and straight forward. At the core of the kingdom's policies is the idea that its dwarven denizens need no one, and that no one needs them. They have their own troubles, their own lands, and as their land does not touch anyone else's land, they prefer that everyone else keep out. Gruff as any dwarf of legend made flesh, the dwarves of Rhugal's Realm have a single political drive: to keep others out of their business. To a large degree, the attitudes of the dwarves of Molten Island have alienated even the most devoted racial kin. Very few of the clans bother to even visit Rhugal's Realm.

It is generally accepted that those wishing to relocate from the Rhugal Clan be accepted into another clan with a clean slate, for while they are rude and obsessively focused on their own defenses, the members of the Rhugal Clan have yet to do anything to disparage dwarven honor and have remained faithful to Vorax and Dorand in all that they do. In fact, they are considered the ultimate in dwarven honor, despite their relations with the rest of the world. All races other than the dwarves tend to avoid Rhugal's Realm. Any but the pure are considered to be second-class citizens at best, and slaves at worst. Indeed, even those who gain the respect of these dwarves must speak the dwarvish tongue or they are not considered worth the bother. Here, it is believed that dwarvish is the only language in which the denizens of the realm can truly express themselves and their experiences in Rhugal's Realm, and adequately pay homage to those who have passed before them.
