As the story goes... Drake Pheonix was let go to the land at a very young age by his mother. She found it necessary to do so, as she had no man of the house when Drake was born and did not want to have ill name to her family and disrespect her father's name. Her father was just a commoner, a poor man and farmed the land around his village selling his wares in the town to feed his family and small livestock. So she let him go in a basket in the river of Zhainge. In this basket contained food, clothing, and a note that said Drake Pheonix. Drake floated down the calm river for days, unaware of the dangers that lurked in the world around him, yet he was safe from all, the animals around him seemed to protect him. On the third day Drake was found by a couple near the Ro River where they took in the small Drake and fed and nurtured him to good health. As there were no notices or rumors around the towns of a missing child, the couple took young Drake in and raised him as their own. As he aged Drake became very fond of the forest and the animals within. Drake was a tall lad, with blonde hair and fair coloured skin and had eyes that looked of gold, rather rare on any creature. He watched his father work the land and making it more graceful and keeping its natural beauty. Drake's father taught him the plants and trees of the forest and explained how they are important part of the process of life. One day Drakes father asked him to search for a berry that lay in the forest for his ill mother. Drake in a panic for fear of his mother being ill, ran to find the berry as directed by his father and as he ran he became disoriented and found a small tent or what later appeared to be a series of small tents or small village. He saw young man playing by a large oak. Next to him appeared to be an injured badger. He could not hear exactly his words, though it sounded as if it were of another tongue not familiar to young Drake, then all of a sudden the badger was at its feet. Drake was fascinated, yet scared. He stepped on a stick which 'snapped' and got scared and ran away. He found the berries for his father and brought them to aid his mother. Drake did not mention this place to his father, however returned everyday to the spot to watch the young man, and the others that were in this camp. Over the next two years Drake found it a treat to watch this young man and others make creatures appear from air, and vines appear from the land, heal creatures. One hot summer day when Drake was 20. He ran to the spot as he had done for years now to see this man in action, yet he was not there. No one was there, all appeared deserted. Drake slowly searched the camp, and as he neared the tent, a voice came from within. The man said "hello young one, today you are ready to learn". Drake was not startled and did not run, but stood and introduced himself, and the man did the same. Drake asked what he was ready to learn. The man told him he has seen him come to his camp from the very first day and has noticed young Drakes interest in his workings. He said you have an aura around you, and I see it when the animals of the forest are around. Today is the day that Drake will be taught the magical and mystical powers that the land has to offer. Over the months he also learned about Katia and through is father's teachings and his new masters he knew that nature is the key to the survival of Layonara, and had to do his part. Drake was very fond of animals and he seemed to be a natural with them, his master was pleased how quickly Drake learned. Two more years passed and Drake learned simple casting spells, like cure, and was even able to summon creatures, and on his 22 birthday he said his farewells to his master, and other druids in camp, stating he will return periodically for new teachings, and said farewell to his parents (the only ones he has known) and headed off to explore he land and see what the world has to offer. With only the clothes on his back, a pack with a few survival items, the knowledge of the land, Drake set off, and set off he did, looking to protect the forest the creatures in it. (ooc) Phoenix is the name of Drakes father, and she named him Drake. Hence Drake Pheonix. Drake's father as it is not known to anyone not even his mother had ancestry blood in his family, but did not have it himself.
