Succession Kingdom: Politics

With every liegess headed by a relative, except Zaj, majority rule favors the crown and not much that they want done is overruled. This gives the impression that Succession is a very tight ship, but a walk around the kingdom shows a people divided on the changes coming up from the south as well as nervous about the increased unliving. Ambivalence is the prevailing attitude.

Countess Agitha Wurschester has been vocal in her opposition to the treaty with Rael and protested as well when the Lord of Rael's forces were allowed free passage through most of the kingdom. Those who know the counts and countesses say that Count Christophe and the Liege Lady are very close friends, making plans together and merely appraising Liege Lord Roland when the decisions are made. Others say the decisions are made far below the silk-lined chambers of the crown, and the entire kingdom is a puppet. Some even claim Lord Rael is secretly in charge now.

Succession has recently made close ties with Rael, and though Zaj remains on trading terms with Sedera, the jnaar will not visit any farther than Lakeside and never announces his presence. Angelica Liwich was quick to rally support to push back the border when she took the throne of Liwich and those in her populace that love a fight came out in droves, forcing a redefinition of the border that dropped the northern edge of Succession to just around Deadman's Pass. Orc's Watch has asked for protection from Lord Rael, but no answer from the Liege Lord and Lady has yet been received. Succession has no trade agreement and no relationship with Boyer, although trade on an individual level is not prohibited. Succession has also recently been communicating with the Sun Kingdom on Alindor. Although witnesses who have managed to glimpse any portion of the contents of said letters say the language is strained at best.
