Phoenix

A little information on the name I chose for my GM avatar, for those of you who are curious and might not be familiar with the phoenix:

The phoenix, also known as the firebird, is a mythological bird with red and golden plumage. It is probably best known for its strange cycle of reproduction. When the phoenix nears the end of its life, it builds a nest from cinnamon twigs. Both the adult phoenix and the nest burn down to nothing, but new life in the form of a young phoenix rises from the ashes.

Some form of the phoenix or firebird is represented in many cultures, including Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Egyptian and Native American mythology and culture. These fire birds are known as Ho-oo, Fêng-Huang, Firebird, Benu, and Yel respectively.
