Writer's Wednesday XXXVII

Can you name the four beetles?

Greetings and welcome Dev-log readers!

This week's pop quiz is over the beetles of Layonara. There are of
course, more then four, but if you can name four you pass! (Just when
you thought the semester was ending!) Here's your study guide:

Small Mud Beetle - /Found everywhere the earth can get damp, these
beetles are the size of leaves and burrow in soft mud with serrated,
scoop-shaped pincers. They do not have the appetite for flesh that slime
and rot beetles do, however they are fierce, territorial and attack in
groups. This is a small specimen.
/

Fire Beetle -/ Preferring hot, dry locales, these cat-sized beetles are
well-known for the gouts of fire they can exhale. Their bellies and
glands are prized by many crafters for this property, as well as their
colorful red and yellow carapaces.
/

Deadly Sand Beetle - /In dry environs, the sand beetle is both revered
and feared. Smaller beetles are hunted for their shells which can
cleaned of the bugs body and used to hold water. Larger specimens of
this gold-shelled bug can get very aggressive in the hunt for liquids
however and are best avoided. This huge specimen is the size of a mule.
/

Huge Water Beetle - /While most water beetles remain smaller than
humans, they can occasionally reach sizes larger than a draft horse.
This specimen has a deep blue carapace and is simply huge.
/

Marzan Death Beetle - /Tunneling up through muddy swamp to burst out,
ravenous, the Marsan beetle is named for the elven man who first
discovered its life cycle. The Marsan beetle is larger than a horse and
eats anything it can digest and often tries to eat things it cannot.
/

Huge Woodland Beetle - /Found everywhere the earth can get damp, these
beetles are the size of leaves and burrow in soft mud with serrated,
scoop-shaped pincers. They do not have the appetite for flesh that slime
and rot beetles do, however they are fierce, territorial and attack in
groups. This is a small specimen.
/

For extra credit, please be able to name all previous versions of
beetles mentioned already! (Hint: Not all beetles say 'beetle' in the name)

Good luck!
