Writer's Wednesday XXXIV
Greetings Readers of Dev-Log!
Today we are taking another look at what sorts of things you will be able to 'find'
around Layonara. We will have a sampling of wild food items as well as some uses
of the naturally occurring resources that may be found on the islands.
Ever wonder what passes for personal cleansing supplies on Layonara?
Pond Soaproot - A lovely purple and white flower on a medium length stem with
curling slender petals, and concealing a long root with a soapy, waxen coating.
While not fragrant, this plant has astringent qualities sought after by noble and
commoner alike.
Coarse Pumice Stone - A frothy volcanic rock with many rough open pores. This
stone is not rare but sought after by many people for it's usefulness.
Wild food things, as promised. Some may be unsurprising to our regulars, but not
all of the sampling is 'recycled'.
Dandelion - A bright yellow weed flower with long serrated leaves that are quite
tasty in salads and the flowers being edible as well.
Lemon - A bright yellow fruit known for it's tart flavor and acidic medicinal and
cooking properties.
Pear - A light green fruit with a distinctively sweet flavor.
Sage - A pungent, peppery herb with woody stems, gray leaves, and purple-
blue flowers.
Tranquility Fruit - A kidney-shaped fruit with a thick yellow skin covered in lumps.
When peeled, the inside is lightly sweet with a smooth texture and pale yellow flesh.
Thank you for reading this week and we hope you enjoyed a glimpse into the day to
day life of the Rohden Islander's life.
