Writer's Wednesday XVI
Hello everyone,
Today we will take a peek at one of the more versatile crafts,
Woodworking.
A woodworker prides themselves with shaping wood to any
need or desire.
Much like a Royal Armorsmith is to metal, the woodworker is
to wood.
Woodworkers create not only useful everyday items but also works
for the
art of perfecting ranged weapons. Woodworkers can create bows of any
type, and this craft will also allow the player to create their own
special ammunition that can enhance the damage made by a ranged
combatant, unlike normal merchant-bought arrows and bolts.
In addition
woodworkers can make the finest examples of Tribal weapons for those
who are home in the wilds or who find themselves better suited to
natural or simpler weapons. Tribal weapons utilize wood and leather to
a large degree however some metal components often required.
This craft
also allows the player to create Musical Instruments required for the
spellsinger to exploit their talents.
Hickory Blow Gun - A small
hollowed branch of hickory designed to hold
darts and be used as a weapon.
Stone Ocarina - A carved stone oval with five finger holes and a mouth
tube projecting from the body.
Steel-Tipped Mahogany Bolts - Short,
slender shafts of reddish mahogany,
set with honed steel tips at one end and
father fletches at the other.
Yew Tamakan - A fine-grained yew stick
with the bark stripped off and a
petrified wood axe head with a wickedly
sharp half-moon edge inserted
through the top.
Segmented Quain
Pole- A marble smooth, silvery white quain spear that
has been attached in
segments to create a flexible, thin fishing pole
with string guides along
the pole's length.
Hope you enjoyed this taste of the latest craft to be
revealed! Join us
again next week for yet more sampling fun!
