Writer's Wednesday XIX

Hello once again and welcome to Wednesday!

We look once again at creatures of the world, soon ready to be seen.

Today however we

address a lurking concern! Will everything you walk up against be new

and foreign to you? Heavens no! We have shown many new things to give

you a glimpse into the wonders that you will see and face, but we have

not forgotten where we come from. Here is a nod to Layonara as you are

used to it with this
week’s installment of creatures.

See if you can identify their roots in what you currently face or have faced in the past!

Diseased Rat - Canker rats, while usually resistant to the filth and contagions that surround them, sometimes succumb to a wasting sickness.

This rat appears even more horrid than usual, with bleeding open sores on its bulbous grey hide.

Mud Beetle - Found

everywhere the earth can get damp, these beetles are the size of leaves

and burrow in soft mud with serrated, scoop-shaped pincers. They do not

have the appetite for flesh that slime and rot beetles do, however they

are fierce, territorial and attack in groups.

Twig Blight - The

origin of these animated twigs is not known but most assume that the

small, aggressive creatures are somehow shed from their larger Darkwood

cousins.

Pan Dancer - Nature-spirited

creatures the size of humans, with fur-covered legs ending in hooves.

They are protective and territorial, and are often heard around forests

playing music or dancing.

Looking forward to seeing you again next week!
