Writer's Wednesday X
Hello again faithful readers and new ones a like!
We have a change of pace for you from the last few weeks of crafting samples. We return again to a sampling of some of the hidden dangers that will be laced amongst the world. Read the following for a touch of lore and description of some creatures awaiting the more adventurous souls of Layonara.
Vengeance Vine Siren- A beautiful and curvaceous nymph with glistening pale green skin scattered with black spots that on closer inspection turn out to be small holes all over her shapely body, and a sweet, otherworldly soprano that pulls one to her.
Banshee Wisp- A softly glowing ball of white light no larger than a plate, the wisp is rumored to be the souls of the evil dead, or the ghosts of women killed by lovers, or the remains of summoned creatures, or even the restless wild magic of deceased powerful mages. No one knows for sure...
Shipkiller Tenerensi- At just over thirty feet long, this crocodile-jawed, sail-finned creature is a terror to behold. Tenerensi can stay underwater for hours or walk on land, but the Greens stay in the ocean as much as possible. The green-hued Tenerensi are the largest and most vicious predators found in salt water - even sharks flee them.
Swamp Devourer- Faster than they look, these magic beasts represent an unknown mage's failed attempt at a personal army. Freed in one swarm during the year 1412, they have spread to most parts of the islands and are known for a voracious appetite, a cunning if not scholarly intelligence, and their terrible, tremendous strength. They breed slowly however and this alone has allowed the inhabitants of the islands to keep ahead of their fang-filled mouths. This one is mud-colored and has poorly made sacks on its back.
Next week we will dig up another interesting tidbit to share with you. Thank you all for taking the time to look in!
