Yab Finis

Background

Yab's life has not been an easy one to live, let me start at the beginning. Yab was born to a poor agro family(farmers). They lived in a small village not much unlike the kind you maybe from. When Yab's mother gave birth, they knew something was wrong, he came out of the woom looking like a corpse, not just wrinkly and small, but what almost looked like a diseased child. What hair he had was bone white, and his flesh was the color of a deer skin left out in the sun to rot and tan in the sweltering sun. When word of this founds its way through the small village whisper where heard were ever the family was. Fearing there fellow villagers and the safety of there son, the family never let Yab go into the village for anything. So he grew up a recluse in his own village. As Yab got older, he started to realize that there were strange things that would happen, when he was alone in the woods. One day he was out gathering wood for his father and he came across a decomposing frog, and as he looked upon the frog, he could almost feel something, a tingle in his soul, it seemed to excite him, to make him feel alittle more powerful, he looked even harder at the dead frog and noticed something, a faint glow, and soft aura about the frog. Feeling the tingle even stronger in his fingers now he raised a hand to look at the tips, and at that moment, the frog seemed to reanimate. It righted itself like it was alive again, like it had never passed. Yab was frieghtened by this, dropped all the wood he had bundled on his back, and ran as far and fast as he could to his home. There he explained to his parents what had happened in the woods. At first they tried to act like Yab was telling a fib, but then the mother bursst into tears and went to a chair in the small house, and cried. Yab not understanding why his mother reacted as she did questioned his father on event. His father realizing that Yab was now a bit older at 16 decieded to tell him of a village shaman, who had come to there village shortly after his birth, and questioned about an energy he had felt eminating slightly from there area. The villagers assumed the shaman must have ment the strange rumours of the new born baby in the village and sent him to Yab's families house. The father then told Yab that after talking to the man for great lenghts, he had said, that Yab had been touched by the dead in the woom. That a passing spirit may have done something to the child while still in his mother. This frightened the family, but the father was determned that he could raise his son to be a man, even if his appearnce was a little different than most others. What no one new was that that touching of the spirit with the dead opened a door with Yab that let him work with dark magik's. Though Yab was attune to dark magik's naturaly he was not tainted by its evil nature. Since he was not fully intune with his magik's it could not sink it melevilance in to the young man, but now that the door had been opened, Yab could feel a dark pressance in his head, trying to bend his will. But Yab was strong, and pushed back at the whispers in his head to the point where he could almost not even hear them. His father told him never to speak of this incident ever again, and went to calm his wife. A few more years had passed (Yab was now 18) in the village and the towns folk had now more made-up tails of goings on around Yab's families farm that none would come near it. It so happens that one day when Yab came home from being off in the woods (secretly working all this time on his understanding of this magik he knew was in him) his house had been ransacked and his parents were torn limb from limb. This horror sent him into a panic, of anger and saddness, he did not know what to do. So he went to get help, all he could think of was help. He ran into the small village to look for someone to help and all he saw were the villagers fighting off what looked like two undead wolves in the town square. Enraged that those must be the creatures that killed his parents, Yab ran at the fight going on in front of him with a gutteral yell. The towns folk saw this and immedialty turned on Yab thinking that he must be the cause of this attrocity taking place. The towns folk started to beat and stabb at him with anything thay could get there hands on while the men with weapons fought the undead wolves. In fear of his life and knowing that the crowd would not understand he ran out of the village never to return again. Feeling angry, sad, and betrayed Yab set out on his own, making a promise to himself that he would always try to live like his father had wanted; a strong man, that would not break under adversity and who would never give in. That and that he would discover some day just how those undead wolves came to be in his village, and what started this downward spiral of his life.
