Hanta was born in a small village near Leilon. Her father, Hendrik, belonged to the local militia while her mother kept a tidy house with what little they had. Being an only child her mother, Joline, was happy to have a girl whom she could teach to bake and knit. However Hanta acted more like a boy than a little lady. She loved to run her fingers through her father's armor links, always wondering how something with holes could stop a barbarian's axe. As Hanta grew up, she always wanted to play the physical games with the boys. They would let her play 'Leilonese and barbarians', but she nearly always had to be the barbarian bad guy. As the years progressed, she was determined to be like her dad; to protect the families that live in the small villages. The lone artisan in the village would not make her any protective equipment that would fit her shape even though she had saved money. Hanta vowed to make her own instead of the cumbersome pieces made for a man. It's funny how much those childhood games can mold you. Hanta continued to hound her father and other militiamen to teach her fighting techniques. Like the 'barbarians' she was forced to play, she felt more comfortable with larger weapons. People have said that she is impatient and reckless. That may be true, but if she didn't take hold of her own destiny Hanta would be married off to some nearby villager and be stuck a housewife. she has determined that won't happen. Hanta grabbed her breeches, pack and favorite two-handed sword. After leaving a quick note, she snuck off into the night knowing that she could get better combat training elsewhere and maybe, just maybe, she'd be able to learn how to make her own equipment, something that would actually fit.
