A Future Feast

The Chef found me. We ate many different things. Different tastes. Different smells. The chef makes this his tribute to the Ravager. I ate them only to make them disappear. He spoke of glory and deeds. A blaze across the lands. A river of blood. There is another, he says. A great one. One who can go to high heights. I hope to use this one. Perhaps he will be the last one I kill. We shall see how great he is.

shadow

Emptiness Within

I will destroy as much of my mind and soul as I may in this world.  I seek to do away with the nattering thoughts of day to day, moment to moment.  Animals let their instincts speak and so shall I.  I sit for long periods of time, staring at a flame and letting my thoughts fall in to the maw of the Destroyer.

shadow

The Ripe City

After doing more business with the Lord of Nothing, I travelled to the city of filth.  Vehl, ripe for the Destroyer's gift.  They already live for nothing.  Empty, starving, greedy, vain, the whelp in the streets, covered in their own filth.  Some would smile in pleasure as they were cleansed by fire.

shadow

Beyond the Veil

I still see what could have been.  My offering in Brenton was good and choice, but there was more I could have done.  Perhaps I could have destroyed the veil between worlds, the very essence.  Perhaps I could have unleashed horrors from beyond the veil.  Dark Shadow has not found someone to provide what I need, so perhaps I need to begin my own search.  Perhaps I should search out the secrets of traveling in to the veil.

I will go back to the city of Vehl and accost someone.

shadow

Lord of Nothing

On the road, the same road I travelled with Dark Blade, I met an orc.  He rode upon a dark horse, wearing dark armor with a dark blade strapped to his back.  He appeared as a lord: commanding, fierce.  I laughed inside.  For this lord, I play the orcish fool.  The brute.  The savage.  He liked my mind, but he does not see what my mind is.

shadow

Spinning Webs

I found Shadow once more.  He is doing the Destroyers work, although it appears not to be his intention.  It matters little to me.  He said he might have someone to find the spell I desire.  That would bode well for there is much I could do with such a thing.  It would make Brenton as a small campfire.

shadow

No Peace, No Hope, No Future

My teacher.  I know not who sent him, but he showed me a better way.  He showed me how to send everything in to the waiting darkness.  I showed one path to death, and it made them quail, and while their hearts left them, I showed them another path: axe or fire.

shadow

Spinning Web

I fell in to the darkness of Shadow, surprising one who was born in the darkness.  We found a place to talk.  Many plans were discussed for my sacrifice to the Ravager.  Shadow will be very useful to eat Layonara whole.  He will be one of the last to embrace oblivion.

shadow

A Seed for Famine

I labor to create more machines and it takes me to sandy banks of a lake.  Nearby are little reptiles, wrathful if confronted but they fall to Firebeest as wheat to a scythe.  They give me space on most days, but not on this one.  One reptile accosted me with talk, cheap banter.  I told the wretch I wished to speak with his chief.  It fled in terror and a few minutes after their chief, Skoolsz, came to me, telling me of a dwarf.  A dwarf who hunted them.  I was asked to find him and bring back his head for a reward.  I considered.  I decid

shadow

Peace Broken

The Path of Peace was one of surprise.  My dreams had been filled with many fantasies of how best to fulfill my duty.  A river of poison, the sacrifice of livestock, the spoiling of food stores.  What was presented to me was such a gift that I knew it was providence.  The image of how to destroy the peace formed in my mind clearly, sharply.  As I made it a reality, there was not even a sign of my presence until the very end when there was a small enough hint that I could shift focus to another enemy.  Perhaps the river will run red with blood, rather than fill

shadow

Breaking the Peace

Sun Shadow came upon me unawares and almost destroyed me without lifting a finger. Yet he let me live. Then showed me that my ways are coarse and incomplete. Mind, Body and Soul are the only forms of sacrifice. Sun Shadow tells me I must destroy their peace. But not through conflict, no, no, no. I must find a way through spectacle that is not fire and slaughter. Tiny, mistrusting town. I will walk to the Lake of Splendor and see if I cannot unravel this mystery. I wish for my sacrifices to become more complete before the eyes of Pyrtechon

shadow

Ghosts

My sister is sleeping soundly.  Her breath is like a breeze across the grass.  I wonder how long she has slept as this.  I wonder if she can teach me to sleep.  Suddenly she wakes and bites my nose.  She eats my face.  Hot blood pours down my throat and I cannot breath.  I am drowning in my own blood.  I try to call out for help, but I cannot.  My sister laughs.  Just before she puts a spear in my eye, she leans in close and whispers, "Feel that?"

shadow

The Road to Nowhere

A road is not always a road.  These words I found myself speaking to Dark Blade.  I was not sure why I said them, but they bled from my mouth and so I will consider them.

A road is a passage from one place to another.  A way to connect one group to other.

But it is then the veins.  It carries life from one group to another.  Food, clothes.

Cut open the veins and watch the life spill out.

shadow

Darkness Falls

Sometimes I fall upon a path towards the maw of the Raging One.  I fell upon a darkness, quiet and bloody.  She drank from my veins, sending me to the oblivion of Pyrtechon.  But Pyrtechon wished me to remain, to send more to him before I am claimed.  I followed after the Dark Blade.  It was a long hunt, but eventually I came to her.  She claimed me as a slave, destroying my freedom.  I welcome it.  I can use her to rain fire upon this world and all it costs is a part of me.  A small price.  Then, once we have made the world burn, I will tur

shadow

The Game

It appears my words cannot yet destroy judgement.

I stalked the caverns of red light, sending the shriekers to the black embrace of the Raging One.  Sending their empty shells to the Raging One.  Eating the ash that fire could not send to the Raging One.

shadow

Stoking the Fire

I have created many pieces and they come together slowly.  Once they assembled, I will set them about the menagerie and watch my creation work.  It will be a small offering, but earned.  I hope the Inn shall be consumed wholly.  Watching their hearth become ash would harrow and that which harrows eats the heart.  It is not enough to send people to the oblivion of the body, their heart and soul must go with it so that oblivion's gift is whole, so that the blessing of the Raging One can be seen for what it is.

shadow

Menagerie

I come to a town.  I wish to see how much there is to release.  Many come to look upon me.  I change form, become a wanderer of strange habit. An elf boasts at me, so I say nothing.  An man in armor rests near me, so I embrace him.  A halfling buzzes, and I ignore.  A sorcerer covets me so I engage.

shadow

Opportunity Knocks

The caravan stood no chance.  There were a few guards and they were drunk.  I watched as the group of bandits waylaid them, took their cargo and left them bound on the side of the road.  They were still bound when the bandits left.  They were still bound when I arrived.  Time was short but I wished to ensure them a full oblivion.  Mind, body and soul.  I lay them out all in a row and searched their remaining belongings.  Any trifles of their gods I profaned.  Basely.  I then set a fire at the feet of each of them.  I offered them a quic

shadow

Shadow

There is a weakness of all who try resisting the Raging One.  They believe my death is their victory.  They could not be more wrong.  I enter battle knowing that no matter what the outcome my lord's will is done.  The Raging One cares not for me more than a smith cares for a hammer.

shadow

Blood, Fire and Steel

I fled the battle and came to the small community.  Spread out.  It would take some work to send it to the Destroyer’s furnace.  It was night, there was no one about.  There was an ancient stone surrounded by flowers the color of blood.  I touched it and my soul came alight and then was calm once more.
