Writer's Wednesday XX

Welcome to another Wednesday,

Today, we take you to the River of Death, on the island of
Alibor.

Long ago before the Great Cataclysm, it was known as the
River of Whispers, and records described it as a ‘scenic and mighty river’.
However, after the Cataclysm, the river turned into what it is now, a dreadful,
putrid, sinister river that spreads decay throughout the island of Alibor.

It is the most infamous landmark on Alibor, said to be a
place rife with evil and, as the name suggests, death. Called the River of
Death due to it spreading of death and decay towards anything around it, and
because persons who have come into contact with the river’s murky waters
sickened and died.

It is thought that this very river has driven the pygmies of
the land mad. It is also said the river protects the pygmies from destruction
and elimination, for indeed entire armies have invaded the jungle and never
been seen or heard from again. Just as they are protected by the river, so too
do they protect the river, and will defend it to their very deaths.

 Until next time
